Information We Collect

When you use MemePlay, we may collect the following information:

• Your name, email address, and profile picture when you sign in with Google OAuth.
• Usage data such as which clips you view, search queries, and interactions with the platform.
• Technical information such as your browser type, device type, and IP address.
• Clips and videos you upload (stored securely in Cloudflare R2 storage).

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain MemePlay's core features, including authenticated sessions and saved clips.
• Allow you to upload, save, and share video clips.
• Improve the platform based on how users interact with it.
• Protect against spam, abuse, and unauthorized access.

Google OAuth & Authentication

MemePlay uses Google OAuth 2.0 for sign-in. When you log in with Google, we receive your public profile data (name, email, and profile picture) from Google's servers.

We store your session securely in Cloudflare KV with a 7-day expiry. Your Google credentials (passwords, tokens) are never stored on our servers.

Cookies & Local Storage

MemePlay uses the following browser storage:

• Session cookie (sid): A secure, HTTP-only cookie used to keep you logged in. Expires after 7 days.
• localStorage: Used to remember your saved clips list and theme preference (light/dark/auto). No personal data is stored here.

Video Content & Uploads

Videos you upload are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage and served via a public CDN URL. By uploading a clip, you confirm that you have the necessary rights to that content.

We reserve the right to remove any video content that violates applicable laws or our community guidelines. The admin can delete clips at any time.

Third-Party Services

MemePlay is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and uses the following third-party services:

• Cloudflare — Pages hosting, KV storage, and R2 video storage.
• Google OAuth — User authentication.
• Google Fonts — Typography (DM Sans, Space Mono).

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your session data is automatically deleted after 7 days of inactivity. Saved clip preferences stored in localStorage remain until you clear your browser data or log out.

If you wish to have your account data removed, please contact us using the email below and we will process your request within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

MemePlay is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of MemePlay after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
